Fan Fiction Main Page | Stories sorted by title, author, genre, and rating Star Trek: Enterprise True Lies by The One Rating: PG-13 ~~~~~ Chapter One Trip Tucker licked his lips as he docked Shuttlepod 1 in the crowded bay. He quickly shut down the engines and hopped out. Jon waved him over. The launch bay was more crowded than usual. The Enterprise had come across a huge debris field and Jon had ordered Enterprise to stop and check it out. Some of the teams had brought the debris aboard. Trip had been ordered to take Shuttlepod 1 and enter the debris field and to go as far as he could. Trip had just completed his task. “Well, Trip?” Jon asked. “The debris is bunched up together in the field, capn’. The farther in ya go. The closer the pieces are,” Trip said. “Do you have any idea what could have caused this?” Jon asked. Trip shook his head. “Not a clue, sir.” “Very well.” Jon turned to look as some more debris was brought in. Trip walked over to his friend Malcolm Reed as he was studying the debris. Malcolm looked up to see Trip hovering over him. “Meaning?” Trip asked. “Meaning, you can’t touch it with bare skin. The coating will literally burn your skin off,” Malcolm said, holding up his hand which was bandaged. “Look’s like you learned that the hard way.” Trip said. “Indeed.” Malcolm agreed. “Though, I can’t figure out, why the acid isn’t eating away at this debris.” “Could be resistant. Could Enterprise withstand whatever this is?” Trip asked. Malcolm shook his head. “No. It could go through the hull plating and slowly eat its way through the hull,” Malcolm reported. Trip went white. “It wouldn’t happen overnight, sir.” Malcolm reassured. While they were talking, a young ensign slipped and fell into the middle of the debris. He started screaming as his bare skin touched the slick coated debris. Trip and Malcolm rushed over and yanked the ensign up and off the debris. Jon ran to the companel and yelled into it. “Dr. Phlox. Medical emergency in Launch Bay 2.” “On my way,” Phlox said. After that was done, Jon ran to the ensign’s side and bent down, reaching out a hand to touch the ensign. Trip saw what Jon was about to do and grabbed his arm. “Don’t touch him. If ya touch him without protective gloves on, you get whatever is on those pieces on you, and ya could seriously hurt yourself,” Trip said. Jon nodded, just as Phlox entered with a few nurses. Phlox knelt down by the Ensign and placed him on the gurney that Phlox had brought. Phlox nodded to his staff and they turned and rushed the injured man to sickbay.
