Chapter Six.

Trip moaned a little as he opened his eyes. He was stuffed into the alcove in the science room. He eased himself out. That pistol that Jerod had used had been practically drained of power, that’s why the stun blast wasn’t that powerful.

Trip got up and placed a hand on his chest where the stun beam had hit.

He made his way to the companel, and quickly punched the intercom button.

“Tucker to the Bridge.”

“Bridge, Archer here.”

“Ensign Jerod Smith is the creator of the acid that’s covering the debris. When I tried to question him, he stunned me. I think he’ll head for the Launch Bay.”

T’Pol quickly scanned Launch Bay 1 and 2.

“Affirmative, Captain. Smith is in Launch Bay 2,” T’Pol confirmed.

“Trip, get down to Launch Bay 2 and keep him from taking off, I’m dispatching a security detail to help you,” Jon said.

“Understood,” Trip said before he closed the channel.

Trip ran out of the science department and took the turbolift to Launch Bay 2. He saw Smith subdue the last guard and run towards the cell-ship. Trip grabbed a phase pistol from one of the officer’s limp hands, and switched it to stun.

“Freeze, Smith!” Trip ordered, aiming at the man.

Smith turned in disbelief.

“You should be…,” he stammered.

“Unconscious? I would have been, if your little pea shooter had been charged.”

Smith continued walking toward the cell-ship.

“Stop Jerod, don’t make me use this.” Trip said.

Jerod didn’t listen.

Trip squeezed the trigger and stunned Jerod.

The security detail entered and saw the Ensign drop.

They picked Jerod up and promptly took him to the Brig.
